The new Grade 4s are just main deck cards that you ride over a Grade 3. V-series is a reboot of the original series. You can only play these cards in Premium Standard Format since they were released before the reboot. These are Grade 4s that you keep in your G-Zone, which is kind of like an extra deck if you're familiar with Yu-Gi-Oh. G-series introduced stride, which you can read up on here: Some Grade 4s are unique and others you just ride them on top of a Grade 3.

In the Standard format, there are no Strides or G-guardians and you play similarly to the game during the first season of Vanguard with the addition of Imaginary Gifts. Basically, discard a heal from hand, search for G guardian and guard with it. You have to wait until next turn.įor G-guardians, it's used when you want to guard from an opponent's attack. Meaning, if you're on grade 2 and ride grade 3,you cannot stride. This will only happen if you have already riden a grade 3 for a turn. (this is important in some cases where some Grade 4s will have skills activated depending on your heart card's name). With this, your grade 3 will be the "heart card". To use the stride Grade 4 cards in your G-deck, basically what you have to do is discard a grade 3 from your hand, search for a grade 4 in your G-deck and ride it. The Grade 4s can be either Strides or G guardians. (Edit: fixed the number of cards) In your G deck, you can search for cards freely. Meaning, instead of 50, the total cards you'll be playing with is 66. Basically, you can have a set of 16 grade 4 cards excluding your main deck.
In Premium format, there will be something called your G-deck. So you will only pay attention to the Standard and Premium format. Where only the pre reboot cards are used in your deck. In this format, your deck will be a mix of both pre and post reboot cards.
In standard format, only new (post reboot) cards are used in your deck.
